MR. BREEZE (the title is inspired by a song by the rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd) follows the increasingly amazing experiences of freelance photojournalist Michael Ryan as he hears of stories about a man named Zack, who can seemingly perform inhuman feats that could be called miraculous. Ryan eventually meets Zack and becomes, at Zack’s insistence, Zack’s messenger. Along the way, a dog named Rover, who also possesses otherworldly powers, joins Zack and Ryan in their adventures, which include a remarkable visit to the Centers for Disease Control, in Atlanta, in search of a cure for AIDS.

The secret of who Zack is and why he has chosen Ryan to tell his story to the world forms the surprising and moving climax to the book.

And there is a MR. BREEZE sequel in the works, Richfield notes. The working title is REVELATION: THE RETURN OF MR. BREEZE. “The second book is about how we take that message (from the first book) and what we do with it.”

In the meantime, Richfield hopes that readers of MR. BREEZE find the storytelling compelling. I also would like them to be entertained and to want to tell others about it. If they come away wanting to be a better human being, that would be a huge plus.”

She married David Spears in December of 2009 and they were blessed with twin boys, Adam and Oliver, in November of 2010.

My Review:
How to start this review off???? Hmmmm…well, at first, honestly, I could NOT get into it. I just could grasp the story. Then, I sat down a second time, PUSHED my self and dived in again. My thoughts the second time around? An overall good story.

Roseanne E. Lortz shows her obvious talent in the form of history. She dives into the crusades with a passion for that era and turns her readers out a novel and start to a series that is VERY gripping. Once I was past the first chapter or two, I was wholly captured and before I knew, the story was sadly over. I loved the way she created the characters in this story. They truly touch your heart and bring you the center of the story.

I’ve never really gotten into the crusades period before. It’s a time of history that I just couldn’t get into. But, with this story, Roseanne captures in a way that you will remember. With Tancred, she adds the message of redemption and longing, hope and faith. With amazing characters, rich, heartfelt details, and an accounting of taking back Jerusalem,Roseanne brings us to the heart of the battle.

So, though in the beginning it took me TWO tries to get through it, I am leaving out lots in this review. There is so much to say about it…faith, devotion, redemption, love, honor…..so much more, including the spoilers, so I’ll stop. I will say this, READ IT. If you are a history lover, a Christian, or just wanting to know more about a time in history that many people don’t look back on, then get a copy NOW. Ms. Lortz’ passion for her history knowledge shines through. She brings a life-like story to her readers, creating a 4 Book worthy start to a fantastic new series. I can’t wait for the second book in Tancred’s story! FANTABULOUS work, Ms. Lortz!

My Review:
Another wonderful book by Tricia Goyer AND a wonderful addition to the Amish genre! I truly loved how this book was laid out. It blended the perfect amount of Amish with English, the perfect amount of moving on from the past with finding a love that’s meant to be, and relying on God to help you through it all. Tricia Goyer has a talent that allows her to write in ANY genre and succeed.

Along Wooded Paths is book 2 in the Big Sky series. In this one, we have Marianna story. I won’t go into detail to much because I will surly give away the plot. I will say this Marianna’s character is well portrayed through the novel. After her brother falls in love with an Englisher, her issue of wanting nothing more than to live her life peacefully and simply, becomes complicated when her parents move her and their family to Big Sky country.

Once in Big Sky country she finds things are so much different there….the Amish interact with the English like they’ve done so all their lives. That’s where she meets Ben. I truly LOVED Ben’s character. My heart went out to him on numerous occasions through out the book. But, Marianna’s new feelings for this new friend, Ben, becomes an even bigger issue. He’s English.

I absolutely loved the way Tricia played this story out. God’s message of sacrifice, reliance, hope and forever love, shines through each page, and really helps to the capture the readers heart. If you are a fan of Amish fiction, then this is most definitely one that I would recommend you read. You’ll fall in love with not only Tricia’s work, or the amazing characters, but also with Big Sky country. Definitely a 5 Book worthy read and I can’t wait for 2012 to get here for the 3rd installment!
