Thankfully Reading Weekend Kick-Off 2011

So, how was everyone’s Thanksgiving? Stuffed full of food today? Me,too. Well, I’m joining in my first Thankfully Reading Weekend where I’ll actually be participating. It’s hosted by Jenn@ Jenn’s Book Shelves (it’s NOT too late to join—click HERE to sign up!).
I’ll be reading A Knight In Cowboy Boots by Suzie Quint and The Girl Most Likely by Jana Richards(an author requested review and a blog tour book). There are others I’d like to get read from my TBR pile too but will stick with those two for now. More updates tonight, tomorrow and Sunday, with my wrap up posted sometime Monday.

My FIRST 2011 Read-A-Thon!

I’m gonna TRY to partake in this fun October event…wish me luck!

Here’s the info from My Shelf Confessions:
We also have many great prizes already lined up! There will be prizes for participation and for challenges on various blogs. There will be international prizes! We’ll also have a hashtag on Twitter:#WWReadathon.

This is a Halloween themed Read-a-Thon but we’re not going to restrict it to only Halloween/creepy books, so pick whatever you want to read! If you don’t know how a Read-A-Thon works, you just read as much as you can for that specific time! It’s basically an online reading party!

2011 Amish Reading Challenge-FIRST ever!!!

I have decided to be creative and do something different. I have searched and searched and have come up with the conclusion that NO ONE has done an Amish Reading Challenge before. So, I decided to take the dive and create a first ever challenge and host it, in host that I will have some success with people signing up. I am running this challenge from January 2011 through December 2011, with signups on going. I am including a linky sign up form on this post so everyone can sign up. All those who sign up will have to follow the rules. :)

The Rules:
1. The goal is to read 15 or more books. Anyone can join.

2. Audio, Re-reads, eBooks, YA, Library books, Novellas, Young Reader, Nonfiction – as long as the book has an ISBN or equivalent or can be purchased as such, the book counts.

3. No need to list your books in advance. You may select books as you go. Even if you list them now, you can change the list if needed.

4. Crossovers from other reading challenges count.

5. Challenge begins January  thru December, 2011.  You can join at anytime.

6. GRAB the button and spread the word!
