My Review:
Dare To Act is a wonderfully written story. Ms. Ellwood has taken great characters, mixed them up with an awesome plot line and turned out a story that is real-to-life. Hitting home on what goes on in Hollywood today, along with small town life, Ms. Ellwood’s work is instantly gripping and captivating. I loved every minute of the un-put-downable book!

I absolutely adored Parker Stigwood’s character! He was wonderfully chiseled. He was completely complex yet absolutely charming. He really showed Ms. Ellwood’s readers what life in Hollywood as a gay man is like. Trying to hide his gayness, but standing up for what is right when he doesn’t accept a Best Actor award, really stood out for me. Incredible! And when he takes a vacation to Dareville, Virginia to his parents’ home, and meeks Luke Hall…oh la la! The sparks are instant!

Luke Hall is a small town openly gay man who directs theater. He never, in a million years, he’d come face to face with the sexy actor, Parker Stigwood. But, when he does, the sizzling attraction is instant. After just one night with the man, he’s lost. Or is he? He meets Leif, a Nordic God looking man who sets the attraction flowing, too. Will Luke be forced to choose between Lief and Parker? Or will rumors about Parker ruin any chances for Luke to have a happy ending?

I really didn’t like Lief, though he was essential to the story. It really lent the “bad boy” to the story. Watching Parker’s attraction to Luke become more was awesome! I could really feel his conflicting emotions between wanting what he’s always had in Hollywood, despite his convictions, and wanting to act on his new found feelings for the sexy Luke Hall.

This is most definitely a wonderful m/m romance. Five Book worthy, for sure! I loved this as a m/m romance because it wasn’t overly sappy, and it was intense, bringing with it real-to-life events and emotions. While this is just one of many installments to Ms. Ellwood’s Dareville series, it wasn’t confusing with it’s plot line or characters and was easily read as a stand alone. I absolutely can not wait to go back and read all the others in this awesome series! I’m 100% a for-life fan of Leigh Ellwood now! Well done!
