Connor Morrison is a 3-D optics pioneer, the star of the UC Berkeley physics department, and a socially inept workaholic. And with his dear friend and business partner, Steve Campbell, handling their investors, he’s content to remain in the shadows. That is, until he meets the gorgeous and starry-eyed physics student Wes Martin.

Wes is brilliant but broke. Ever since his scholarship fell victim to the financial crisis, he’s had no choice but to sell his body to stay in school. Already half in love with Connor, Wes initially resists Steve’s offer to be Connor’s thirty-fifth birthday present. But in the end, Wes is too broke—and too smitten—to say no.

Connor has no idea Steve bought Wes’s attentions, and he quickly falls under the young man’s spell. Yet after one night together, Wes disappears. He can’t bear to hook with a man he could so easily grow to love, but he also can’t bear to tell him the truth. Besides, if he sleeps with Connor again, there’d be no way to hide the bruises one of his regular johns loves to inflict. Only one thing to do: let Connor go. Walking away is painful, but not nearly as much as building a relationship on lies.

My Review:
Cat Grant has just become my absolute favorite author in the m/m romance department. She has beyond amazing skills to capture the heart of what true love means and how priceless it can be. She mixes that will an intensely emotional plot line and complex characters to throw her fans-new and old alike-a story that will steal your breath away.

Since this is a novella-just 81 pages-I won’t go into a terribly long review on the brink of spoilers. But, I do have to tell you that Connor will make you fall in love with him instantly. He has an incredible heart and personality and the instant attraction he feels for Wes, is off the charts. And Wes….bless him,I absolutely adored him. The pain he endured; the turmoil he went through, racked through me as if it was my own. But, seeing him with Connor……well, you’ll have to grab a copy of the novella to find out more for yourself .

Definitely 5 Book worthy, in my honest opinion. Again I say, Cat Grant is incredibly talented and steals your heart with her characters and words. I’m truly picky when it comes to m/m romance. I don’t want something overly sappy or fakey. You won’t get that with Grant’s work. You get the full emotion, the true meaning of conquering love. I am looking forward to reading Doubtless, book 2-Connor’s best friend Steve’s (who played a major role in Connor and Wes’s meeting!) story. Fantastic job, Ms. Grant! I’m forever devoted to your work, for sure!
