My Review:
Ms.McClintock is superbly talented. From the start of Gallagher’s Pride, I was taken to another time and place; taken to the center of a story that steals your heart. Ms.McClintock chisels out characters that root themselves deep in your heart, where they’ll stay forever more. It’s rich in historic detail and keeps you captivated til the last page.
Brenna Cameron is a beautiful character. My heart went out to her so many times! She was born and raised in Scotland and loses her mother at a young age of 18. Not many years later, she looses her father, too. But, with the loss of her father comes a deeply buried secret……one that will forever change her life. Making a decision, Brenna packs her things and travels to Montana, the only place, she learns, that she has any family(albeit one that doesn’t claim her!) left. But, will she find the answers to the questions she has about this secret? Or will the prideful heart of a handsome rancher completely change her outcome on life….and her guarded heart?
Ethan Gallagher is one heck of a rancher! I adored every minute of his story and then some. Trying to run his family’s ranch, and finding ways to deal with the neighboring troublesome rancher next door, Nathan Hunter, he’s not ready for the beauty who literally falls into his hands in town. Nor is he ready for the fierce protectiveness he feels for her. He’s not ready for the feelings that she stirs in his heart, but none-the-less, he helps her with finding the secrets to her past…….and wants to help her with her future, too.
With a bit of suspense mixed in, these two amazing characters steal you away. They become your family for the time, and bringing with them amazing secondary characters. I did not want this story to end, but happily, I have book 2, Gallagher’s Hope to jump into. From rich historic detail to amazing sweet romance, this book has it all and then some. Another 5 Book worthy novel in my books!
