My Review:
I have one thing to say about this author and this book. I am MAD at you! Oh my god. Seriously, Carrie Ann? You had to do that to me? Grrrr! Yes, I just growled(guess I’ve read too many of Carrie Ann’s Redwood Pack novels…). But, anyway. Back to my review. Seriously. I was tied up in so many knots throughout this entire novel! I was cursing Carrie Ann up one side and down the other
. No, not really but I was completely wrapped up in emotional turmoil and what-the-hecks the entire time I was turning the pages of Adam’s story. Carrie Ann Ryan is the ultimate in paranormal romance authors. I was hooked on her work the minute I read An Alpha’s Path. I couldn’t get enough and with every book she writes, it just gets better and better….or in this case better and frustrating!!!
Adam Jamenson has been seen through all the books, and I really sensed his inner struggles and his sadness each time I saw him in the others. I was so excited when Carrie Ann created his story. I had to know if he got his happy ending and well, I’ll not tell you if he did or not, but I will tell you that this man had me bawling my eyes on more than one occasion for sure! A couple of times I wished I had a cast iron frying pan to knock him upside his hard head(and Carrie Ann’s head too!), but…yea. Anyway, he was such a wonderful Enforcer. I could, like I said, feel his sadness in the other books. He suffered so much with a terrible, gut wrenching loss and he wasn’t ready for anything else. Then, when he thought things may slide back into place for him, Bay Milton arrives at the Redwood’s den…and turns his life upside down.
Bay Milton is just as full of secrets as Adam and just as hard headed! I loved her character and thought that Carrie Ann had finally decided to help Adam out. When she shows up to the den with a surprise for Adam, things don’t quite go as she had originally planned. Especially with the way the Centrals are once again in attack mode for the Redwoods and it seems centered around her. All she wants is the protection of the Redwoods….and the help of one sad, emotionally scarred wolf. But, with twists and turns and emotions galore, things seem to take on new meaning for everyone in the Redwood pack.
Again I say I am mad at Carrie Ann(not really, but I have to tie her up in knots the way she did me with this book!)! I loved this book so much and she had me in knots the entire time I read this book. She did add a few humorous moments to the story to try and balance it out but….well, I still bawled my eyes out. Adam has just become my absolute favorite of the Jamenson boys and I want you to go out and grab up this book right now(but only if you’ve read the first three books so you can fully grasp Adam’s turmoil and pain!). It is 5 million book worthy (though on here I can only give it a 5 Book rating) and full of redemption and possible second chances. You’ll get so completely wrapped up in finding out what happens to Bay, Adam and the Redwoods that before you know it, you’ll be at the end with tears streaming down your face. I won’t tell you whether Adam does get his happy ending or not, but I will tell you that Carrie Ann kills you throughout the book and the ending…well it’s a shocker for sure!!! I can’t wait to see what Carrie Ann has in store for the other Jamenson’s….I just hope I don’t have to wait too long to find out!

Thanks for the review – I really need to catch up on reading this series
