About the Author:
Anne Mallory is an award-winning and best-selling author of historical romance novels. Her books blend romance and mystery. Her name is a pseudonym.

Mallory submitted her first manuscript, Masquerading the Marquess, for consideration for the 2003 Romance Writers of America Golden Heart Award, given to a previously unpublished author. The book was a finalist in the competition and caught the attention of one of the judges, an editor from Avon. The editor purchased the book, which was released in October 2004. This debut novel was later nominated for a Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice Award for Best First Historical Romance.

Her style of writing has been likened to that of Amanda Quick, blending mystery and romances in a Regency setting. Romantic Times described her first novel as “lively, exciting, cleverly plotted” with an “independent, intelligent heroine and equally smart hero.”
Born in Michigan, Mallory now lives in California.

My Review:
Ms. Mallory is highly talented! I really enjoyed reading this novel. It’s the first book I’ve read by Anne Mallory but it definitely will NOT be the last. Her richly detailed plot line and beautiful characters really spiced  this story up and made it a real page turner.

Andreas and Pheobe are beautiful characters, both perfect for the roles they played. Pheobe is out to do anything she can for her family, though she definitely feels the sparks between her and Andreas. I didn’t like Pheobe’s character at first, watching her use Andreas, but in the end her character really played an amazing role in bringing the story together.

Andreas is every woman’s dream….sexy, handsome, and well, passionate. Oh la la, in other words. I really enjoyed his character as he came to know Pheobe. His personality really fit his character and made him come to life. His past created a hardened heart, and it was fun watching that heart thaw out, in the heat of surrender with Pheobe.

I highly recommend this passionate, STEAMY, roller coaster of a novel with 4 Books to everyone looking for a good bedtime read. You’ll enjoy the writing style of Ms. Mallory and fall in love with her characters. Despite the fact it was my first novel by her and a little slow in the first chapter, I will give Ms. Mallory’s books a try again in the future, starting with this novel’s prequel, One Night Is Never Enough. Ms. Mallory knows how to combined wonderfully chiseled characters with an intriguing, passionate plot line to lure the reader into a definite page turner. Great job, Ms. Mallory!
