Zuri bit back a complaint, wishing he’d quit hovering because he was keeping her on edge. But when he didn’t budge, she dragged her feet to the bed, scooped up the wash-softened cotton and turned toward the bathroom.

“Uh uh,” he said, tsking softly. “My house. My clothes. My rules.”

She glanced over her shoulder, not knowing if she’d heard him right, but that same hard challenge he’d issued when he’d demanded the kiss was stamped all over his granite features.

She knew she ought to ignore him and lock herself into the bathroom to dress and gather her scattered wits, but the underlying tension riding the edge of his jaw excited her.

Cowboys, hot sex and amazing suspense! Three things that absolutely capture my attention every time. Delilah Devlin is still a fairly new-to-me author, but quickly becoming my favorite. I first read her work when I read Cowboy Lust, and was quite pleased with the outcome. So, I was certain I would love Laying Down The Law……I was right! It’s definitely a home run in my book!

Zuri Prescott is on the run…..she knows she shouldn’t be, but she is overwhelmed with the events of her bank be robbed, and heads out of town. The one place she knows she can go is the one place she knows she shouldn’t go. She left there long ago, and never planned to return. But, once she’s there, the man she’s running from seems to have found her. Through the rain and slicked up roads, she runs her car off the road. Then she’s discovered by the one man she never thought she’d see again……a man who still stirs up sizzling sparks for her.

Colt Triplehorn is one hot cowboy! Twelve years ago, the one he loved and wanted to married, left him on their high school graduation day. Broken hearted, he sets off for the Army and returns home to accept a Sheriff’s position and work his family’s ranch with his two brothers-the same brothers who warned him about the woman who left him all those years ago.
