“The bluest of blood, the boldest of hearts; the de Montforte brothers will take your breath away.”
England, 1776: Lord Gareth de Montforte is known as an irresponsible rake with a heart of gold. When he takes a bullet for boldly thwarting a stagecoach robbery, he is stunned to discover that the beautiful young woman he has heroically rescued, Juliet Paige, is his deceased brother’s American fiancée, accompanied by her infant daughter. Despite his brother the duke’s refusal to acknowledge Juliet, Gareth is determined to do right by the courageous woman who crossed an ocean to give her baby her rightful name. But Juliet is wary of marrying this black sheep aristocrat, even while she is hopelessly charmed by the dashing devil. Never has she met anyone who embraces life so thoroughly, who makes her laugh, who loves her so well. And, even when it seems the odds are against them, Juliet has absolute faith that Gareth will go beyond the call of duty, risking his life itself to give her and her daughter a home — and a love that will last a lifetime.
About The Author:
Bestselling, multi-award winning and critically acclaimed author Danelle Harmon has written ten books, previously published in print and distributed in many languages throughout the world. Though born and raised in Massachusetts, she and her husband, a native of southwest London, were married and lived in England for several years. These days, Ms. Harmon and her husband make their home in New England with their daughter Emma and numerous animals including four dogs, an Egyptian Arabian horse, and numerous pet chickens.
I absolutely adored Ms. Harmon’s work! She is a super talented author who combines history perfectly with lovable characters and passion that will sweep you off your feet. From beginning to end, I was a part of the de Montforte brothers and their problems. I felt the pull of attraction between the heroine and hero and it really hooked me!
Juliet Paige has a problem. She was engaged to be married to a de Montforte brother. Now she’s the mother of his child and he’s dead…..or so she thinks. Traveling from America to England to seek her fiance’s family out, she encounters a robbery on the stagecoach she’s riding on.
Gareth de Montforte is third son, and a rascal of a de Montforte! Riding back to his home after some juvenile antics with friends, or members of the Den of Debauchery, he witnesses a robbery of a stagecoach, and upon seeing the beautiful Juliet and her baby, he dismounts his horse and sets off to help with a rescue, getting shot and needing care.
What ensues after that is a fun, romantic story of ups, downs, ins and outs. Juliet never once thought she could fall for such a charming rascal, but the brother has caught her heart! Each page turn brings something new to laugh at, and something new to “awww” about. The best part was finding out if Juliet could tame The Wild One‘s heart and have a happily ever after with her daughter…….
I truly loved every minute of this story! The writing style of this author is captivating and beautiful. My only complaint about the story? The ending! Man, Ms. Harmon leaves the reader on the edge of their seat with the ending and literally drooling in anticipation of the next book! I can’t wait to get my hands on Charles’ story, The Beloved One. Well done, Ms. Harmon, on a wonderful 5 Book worthy novel!
