My Review:

Holy. Mother. Of. Mary. I didn’t just like this book a little a bit. I absolutely, no-doubt-about-it, 100% loved it. Battered Hearts series has just worked its way in to my top three favorite series. Wow. Ms. Moon’s writing style is amazing and this book is filled with so many layers of emotions, physical and mental complexity. It can be broken down, analyzed, rebuilt and still come out as one amazing novel! Simply put: this book blew my mind.

Romeo Wellings is one hot UFC fighter! I mean I could literally envision him standing in front of me. Wow. But, the thing is. He’s got baggage. Lots and lots of emotional inner baggage. He’s biological father is God knows where, his mom died when he was kid and he has two younger half brothers whose father was a mafioso man that never married their mother. So, he’s always been the one to take care of them, doing anything and everything to keep food on the table. But the new trouble is, he just lost the latest UFC fight to is enemy and turned around and saved said enemies girlfriend from her ex husband. The beginning of this story is absolutely sizzling with raw passion, and it only gets better after he leaves the hospital and lays eyes on Juliet Connor.

Juliet Connor is multi talented. She’s a lawyer for two towns, she’s a volunteer deputy for her twin brother, Sheriff Wyatt Connor, and best friend to the man who fought-and won-against Romeo Wellings in the last UFC fight in Las Vegas. When she lays on him, she’s instantly attraction with a raw carnal lust for the man. Knowing he saved the life of her best friend’s girlfriend, she feels the need to repay him with dinner. That dinner turns into a night that Juliet will never, ever forget…..and changes her life in away that she never thought would be possible.

These two characters torn my heart in two, had me with tears in my eyes, and left me with a smile on my face. They are battered hearts, for sure, but together, and with great secondary characters(oh my God, I can’t wait to see what Ms. Moon has in store for Cassanova and Valentino-Romeo’s brothers!), they over come their past, hurdle obstacles and come out on the other side of true love and deep rooted, kinky passion.

This book is definitely not for the faint of heart, nor for those who want a little sweet romance. No, it’s a so-far-beyond 5 Book worthy novel of carnal needs, wants, desires and finding that one person you can’t live without, and who can help you be a better person. Definitely a book that you need to go into with a clear mind and open heart. From mafia men, to drop-dead-hot UFC Fighters, to pain in the butt siblings, this book is absolutely incredible. While this is the second book in the Battered Hearts series, I wasn’t overly confused by the events, though I am most definitely going back and seeing where Melody and Clay got their story, and where Romeo and Juliet (I just love the way that sounds for these characters!) were before meeting. And, I am happy to say that I am a 100% devoted-for-life fan of Ms. Moon and can’t wait for the next installment! Bring it!
