Wedding planner Taylor Vaughn specializes in magical moments. So when her best friend asks her to plan his wedding, the task should have come as simply to her as all the others. There’s only one problem……she is desperately in love with the groom.

Caleb has always been Taylor’s best friend as well as her deepest and most secret desire. Her hopes that he will someday come to love her back are dashed on the day he brings his new fiancé into their lives. While the misery of losing the man she loves to another woman looms over her, she doesn’t expect to find her head turned by the most unlikely of strangers.

Ethan Young, cake decorator, is everything a woman could want in a man: handsome, charismatic, and has a way with icing! When she finds herself feeling more than simple attraction for the sexy baker, her heart is torn in two between the man she’s always loved and the man who’s slowly stealing her heart.

Goddess Fish PromotionsMy Review:

I hate this. I absolutely hate this. No. No, not the book. What? You think I’d be that rude? LoL. Nope. Not me! I hate that this book has me wanting to give away everything in it because I loved it that much. I want to talk and talk about it (even though it wasn’t that long!). But, I won’t do that. I will tell you that Ms. Marion is talented….with a capital T! She is amazingly talented. This book had me laughing (oh yea, you’ll laugh….and laugh and laugh.), had me crying (seriously!) until I wanted to just shake something (preferably, my Kindle.). I adored Taylor, Caleb and Ethan. These characters were so life-like, I could imagine walking beside each of them and befriending them for myself.

Taylor’s character is complex. You see, she loves someone she can’t have. Oh, she’s had him for sometime but not like that. He’s her best friend. And he wants her to plan his wedding. That’s the tough part. She wants it to be their wedding. Caleb is adorably charming and understanding. Completely and totally devoted to making Taylor (and his girlfriend!) happy. But then she comes face to face with Ethan, the cake decorator. What ensues from that meeting is splendid!!!

Taylor is still torn, for she still loves Caleb. But all the time she spends with Ethan…..well it’s a true roller coaster ride for them! And for the readers. With ups and downs and twists and turns, this book is a fast-paced read that will leaving you wanting to devour tall, dark men, err, um, lots and lots of cake. ;-) If you are looking for that book that is filling in every way-from awesome characters to yummy plot lines-then Ms. Marion’s Cake is the book for you!

Worthy of 5 Books and more, this is a book that I look forward to going back and reading time and time again. Ms. Marion is a highly skilled author and I can’t wait to see more of her work. I would love to see these sweet, lovable characters return in a future book. Well done, Ms. Marion, and bring on the next please! :-)

so – is it a bad thing to admit that by the title alone I’d get the book — and that it’s in my “wishlist” on amazon?
    Well – it is.

What a great review, Molly. I’m pretty new to romance (just this past year) and I have read very little multicultural romance. I’d be interested in reading this one. It sounds very appealing.

Hi Catherine! thanks for stopping by. I love multicultural romance! It’s nice to read about people from all backgrounds, don’t you think? Good luck in the contest :)
