It’s two weeks before Triss turns 18, and her world is about to change into the most magical one imaginable as she readies herself to enter The Witch Avenue Order… that is until her mother’s disappearance. Instead of celebrating her transformation, she finds herself spreading rose petals into her mother’s empty grave.
When Logan, her best friend from junior high, moves back to town for college, he vows to help her find the answers she so desperately seeks surrounding her mother’s disappearance. As they begin uncovering clues, it becomes apparent that the life of white magic they both grew up loving, is not what the majority practices, and their lives are in danger.
With a haunting feeling that her mother may still be alive, she begins to hear a call to the wilderness. Triss realizes that in order to find the answers she needs, she must learn the ways of her ancestors and become the hunter, not the hunted before it’s too late, and she becomes part of the lonely souls.

My Review:
First, I just want to say, that I wanted to read this book for the cover alone. Oh my gosh. It’s gorgeous! Don’t you agree? Second, I want to say that I think I may have just found my new favorite young adult paranormal romance author. Holy cow! Karice Bolton hit it home with all the best elements for a paranormal story: the witches, the suspense, the love, the supernatural…all of it combines for one fantastic start to a new addictive series!
Triss is about to become a legal adult. One, though, who still needs her mom. Trouble is, she can’t find her. Now, she’s standing at her mom’s grave, wondering what happened.
Triss best friend Logan is back and making the vow to help her in anyway he can. As they seek the answers needed to find out what really happened to Triss’ mom, secrets are uncovered. Things might not be what they expected. Darker things than the white magic that the witches practice are uncovered and Logan and Triss may not be able to find the answers before something happens to them. Lonely Souls may just gain two more members…..or will they?
That is just one of the many questions that are answered in this fascinating new book. I was totally taken with the characters and felt a part of every twisting page, every gut-wrenching turn. I walked beside Triss and Logan as they worked together to uncover the pieces to the puzzle and by the end of the story…..well, let’s just say that another 5 Book worthy installment to this series can not come fast enough for me. I want to see more of the supernatural and Logan and Triss! Great job, Ms. Bolton, and you have a forever fan in me!

Great review! I couldn’t agree more about the cover – it’s remarkable and very eye catching.
I like the idea of a YA book where the main character is technically still a teen but is also at the crossroads of legally being an adult. Thanks for the great giveaway!
This sounds like my kind of story!
